Francine Houben at Hay Festival Segovia

23.09.2015 - Events

Women architects have been making a major contribution to many of the world’s major studios, but have yet to be given the recognition they deserve. The topic is discussed at the Hay Festival in Segovia, Spain during the session ‘The time has come! Women and architecture’ on Sunday 27 September.

Francine Houben joins Christine Murray, editor of the Architectural Review and Martha Thorne, Executive Director of the Pritzker Prize and Dean of the IE School of Architecture and Design to talk about the issues that have become endemic for women in the architectural profession, and how the Women in Architecture campaign will enact much-needed change within the industry.

The session takes place at 12.00 on Sunday 27 September and is co-organised with IE University and the Architectural Review in collaboration with Netherlands Embassy in Spain.

The tenth edition of the Hay Festival in Spain will feature talks, debates, concerts and art exhibitions, which will be held in Romanesque churches, palaces, convents, gardens and the Alhóndiga, a World Heritage site.
