NCKU Tainan to host Elad Eisenstein lecture

19.07.2016 - Project updates

The National Cheng Kung University (Tainan, Taiwan) will host a lecture by Elad Eisenstein, director urban design at Mecanoo, on July 28, 2016. Over the course of the lecture “People Place Purpose: Preparing cities for change”, Elad will explore the key characteristics of change in world cities.

The greater complexity and mix dominating most urban environments today, results in enormous change in cities. Architects, urban planners, developers and city governments are challenged to respond to these changing conditions and allow cities to productively renew and expand.

Reflecting on his experience from cities worldwide, as well as Mecanoo's recent work which includes designs for the new Tainan Public Library, Elad will discuss the tools and creative thought process applied to maximise the potential of change and stimulate meaningful, wider urban transformation.

The lecture is organised by NCKU’s Department of Urban Planning, starting at 4 p.m. in the Auditorium (RM 50102).
