Exhibition Daylight in architecture

03.03.2017 - Events

A model of Maritime and Beachcombers Museum Kaap Skil has been included in the exhibition “Daylight in architecture”, organised by the Living Daylights Foundation. The exhibition showcases the winners of the biannual Daylight Award, which was first presented in 2008.

From March 9 until June 22, 2017, the Borneo Architectuur Centrum (BAC) will showcase models, pictures, and videos of the award-winning projects, each of which demonstrate an outstanding and inspiring use of daylight.

Kaap Skil, on the island of Texel, the Netherlands, was named the winner of the award’s 2012 edition. The jury praised the various ways in which the building plays with daylight and the contrast between daylight and artificial light, lightness and darkness.

The BAC is located at the R.J.H. Fortuynplein 4 in Amsterdam and opens on weekdays from 9am to 5pm. A lecture series by renowned architects supplements the exhibition.
