Francine Houben lecture in Munich

21.06.2017 - Events

The Oskar von Miller Forum in Munich will host a lecture by Francine Houben on Thursday, June 29, 2017. In “People, Place, Purpose”, she will present her body of work that has been based on these three fundamental elements.

Francine will share the stories behind Mecanoo’s high-profile designs that have been realised all over the world, like the Delft University of Technology Library and the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts. Each design is founded on observation of people, location, culture and climate. The analysis amounts to designs that respond to current needs, yet which are also prepared for (un)predictable change.

The Oskar von Miller Forum is an educational initiative of the Bavarian construction industry. Keynotes and lectures form a significant part of the event programme hosted by the Forum. Focusing on topics of current interest in engineering, architecture and other construction-related areas, the lectures also address social issues and developments.
