Armand Paardekooper joins the Dutch delegation at the New York Smart Cities

10.05.2019 - Events

As part of the Dutch Smart Cities delegation, Mecanoo will be joining the 3rd annual Smart Cities New York on May 13th-15th. Armand Paardekooper, Associate Architect/Business Development, will be pitching our approach to smart and resilient cities: how to implement innovative solutions in designs for healthy buildings and cities.

Mecanoo designs cities and buildings where people live longer, healthier and happier lives; neighbourhoods that are well-connected, bicycle-friendly, social and biodiverse. We bring smart solutions into practice in urban developments, buildings and landscapes.

As a partner of the innovative Green Village testing ground at the Technical University of Delft in the Netherlands, we implement and further develop many innovations in our projects, like the prototypes for the hyperloop, self-sufficient buildings, water-absorbing public space and hydrogen-driven cars and cities.

SCNY is North America's leading global conference for innovators and decision-makers who are improving life in the cities of tomorrow. It takes a holistic look at the innovations in technology and infrastructure that are making cities more livable, equitable, and sustainable.

This innovation mission is organized by the Consulate General of the Netherlands in New York in collaboration with the RVO, Amsterdam Trade & Innovate, Brainport Eindhoven and Rotterdam Partners.
