Mecanoo is developing with the Municipality of Utrecht, Galgenwaard Onroerend Goed BV and Herculestoren Utrecht CV together with the residents the new masterplan for the Galgenwaard site area in Utrecht. The Galgenwaard site is a unique place, well known by the residents.
The new Galgenwaard, including its surroundings, must become the center of Maarschalkerweerd. An environment with homes for different target groups and an environment for working, learning, sports, health and leisure. An area that is pleasant for cyclists and pedestrians. Sports will of course continue to play an important role within the new Galgenwaard.
As part of the development, we are starting a participation session with the other owners and users in and around the area. In the participation sessions we work out the plans and residents get a better idea of what is really going to happen. For example, where and what will be built and how parking and traffic will be organised among others essential topics.
