WAF Awards 2013 Singapore

Two projects nominated for a total of three awards

04.07.2013 - Project updates

Two of Mecanoo’s recent projects have been nominated for three prestigious architecture awards. Kaap Skil Maritime and Beachcombers Museum on the island of Texel is competing in the Culture category of the World Architecture Festival Award (WAF).

Fontys Sports College in Eindhoven received a nomination for the WAF Award in the Schools category while the interior aspect of the project was shortlisted for an INSIDE Award in the Education category.

Both WAF and INSIDE Awards will be presented during the World Architecture Festival which takes place on October 2-4 in Singapore. The judging panel is comprised of distinguished professionals from the global architecture and interior design industries, including Odile Decq and William Alsop.

It is not the first time the qualities of these two projects are recognized. Kaap Skil won the Daylight Award in 2012 and, more recently in May of this year, an Architzer A+ Award. Fontys Sports College was previously nominated for the Dutch Building of the Year 2013 Award.
